Nomenclature standards are an important part of a variety’s documentation; they authenticate the variety as a breeding achievement. The creation and promulgation of nomenclature standards is necessary to fix the name of a variety to its appearance and, therefore, to a certain set of genetic information. First of all, the International Code of Nomenclature of Cultivated Plants recommends the selection of herbarium specimens meeting certain requirements as nomenclature standards. Nomenclatural standards should be deposited for perpetual storage in scientific herbarium collections for special purposes, where the main object of storage is cultivated plants and their wild relatives. In Russia, such a scientific collection is the Herbarium of cultivated plants of the world, their wild relatives and weed plants (acronym in the International Herbarium Inventory is WIR). It is necessary designated herbarium specimens with their identification number and reference to published descriptions of varieties for official promulgation of nomenclatural standards, publication of herbarium label. Our publication designates and publicizes nomenclatural standards of 9 actinidia cultivars of selection of Pavlovskaya experimental station of WIR: “Aromatnaya” (WIR-48268), “WIR-1” (WIR-48267), “WIR-2” (WIR-48266), “Dostoinaya” (WIR-48264), “Leningradskaya Pozdannyaya” (WIR-48263), “Matovaya” (WIR-48262), “Pavlovskaya” (WIR-38313), “Pamyat” (WIR-48258), and “Excellent” (WIR-38248). Herbarium specimens of nomenclatural standards are supplemented with photographs and designed according to the recommendations of the International Code of Cultivated Plants. The herbarium label shows the herbarium number of the specimen in the WIR Herbarium, the Latin name of the species, the name of the variety, the place of reproduction (where the herbarium plant being herbarized was grown), the date of collection, and the name of the collector. The nomenclatural standards were transferred for storage to the WIR Herbarium Type Collection (WIR)
