In the context of the intensive development of nanotechnology, research and development, aimed at reducing energy consumption in feed production for farm animals and poultry, are becoming particularly relevant. Many preparations and biological additives, created on the basis of powders of various organic components, are used in feed preparation. Powder, based on coniferous trees, in particular, is a source of vitamins E, K, F, provitamin A, carotenoids, bioflavonoids and B vitamins. Components, used in veterinary medicine, are extracted from needles, pine or spruce shoots. One of such technological trends in dairy cattle breeding is the production of feed additives in the form of powdered materials with high surface energy. Based on the results of numerous scientific studies and patent sources, as well as on the basis of our experiments, we have established the influence of the specific surface area of powdered particles on the physico-chemical properties of feed components. The structure of the finely dispersed feed component, obtained by this technology, becomes available for “attacking” enzymes that contribute to its better digestion in the farm animals’ organisms. In agro practice, to increase feed nutritional value, various technological methods are used: regulating the level of fiber and pectin substances, choosing the method of processing raw materials, etc. Growing demand for feed additives and increasing requirements for their quality pose challenges related to optimization of the technological stage of raw materials grinding and development of installations that provide a given performance taking into account the target indicators of the final product. Grinding is a complex process, its kinetics is determined by a simultaneous combination of many factors. When choosing the chopper of the optimal design, it is necessary, along with the technological parameters, to take into account the process thermodynamics, the material reactivity and its change during activation. To control the quality of functioning of disintegrator-type shredders as dynamic systems, we propose an algorithm based on the operational control concept of the indicators of the final product. A promising direction of constructive and technological improvement of disintegrator grinding units is to expanse technical capabilities of installations for implementing various modes of grinding materials. The most effective way to solve the formulated problem lies in the course of multivariate system analysis
